This is my pictorial review of the Ricoh KR 10 Super, a 35mm film camera which was manufactured for Ricoh in Japan in the early 1980’s. In common with all Ricoh’s bayonet mount 35mm cameras, it has the Pentax K mount fitted which allowed a wide range of commonly available lenses to be fitted to it. This is another post in my series about my vintage camera collection. The camera in question here is the Ricoh KR-10M, which is a manual focus 35mm camera made in about 1990. Today my son went on his first school residential visit. He is away for 4 days and we went to his school to see him off at lunchtime. I took along my Ricoh GXR with an S10 sensor unit and took a few photos. This seems to be an odd post from a man who has just bought a Ricoh GXR so I’ll just preface it with the statement that I love my GXR and think it’s a really novel and interesting idea. I took my new GXR into work today and I was playing about with a feature called Full Press Snap. This allows you to set a default focus distance so that if you take a picture by fully pressing the shutter without the half press to focus, the camera automatically focuses to the set distance and takes the exposure. I’ve come to the conclusion that not only do I enjoy taking photographs, I also enjoy owning cameras ! Because I’ve accepted that I no longer feel guilty about buying new cameras, especially when I find a bargain. Read moreMy eBay purchases have turned up. I have a Pentax MZ-5 with Sigma 28-80 macro, a Minolta Dynax 5 with 28-80 & 75-300 and a Ricoh KR-10m. Initial impressions are very good, the Pentax and Minolta in particular look as if they have just come out of the show room.
