Snowshill manor on film

This is a picture which I took a couple of years ago of Snowshill manor on film; Specifically Fuji 400 Superia Xtra 400 film with a Minolta X-505 super camera.

Although I’ve published a group of pictures from this location before, I was sorting through some images to decide which could be archived to save some disk space. and I was struck by how good this looked.

There is a brightness and clarity in this image which I didn’t manage to capture when I took similar pictures with my Pentax K-5 at the same location and it got me thinking again how good film images would now be if film technology had continued to be developed over the last 15 years.

In the next few days I’m going to continue my archiving of images and if I find any others I am particularly moved by I’ll add them to the site.

I’m a software developer by profession but I’ve been taking pictures since I was about 8 years old. In that time I’ve owned cameras of all types and sizes from 120 roll film thro’ 35mm to my current Pentax K-5, Ricoh GXR + P10/S10/A12 28mm/A12 50mm, Canon S95 and recently acquired Sony NEX 6.
