York Minster pictures

Whilst we were on holiday in York we paid a visit to York Minster where I took a large number of pictures. Although I’ve published some of the pictures of my daughter and some other pictures in and around the Minster,  I haven’t published all my favourite interior shots so I’ve gathered them all here in a single post.

Obviously, there are several parts of a church interior which are dark places, so a lot of these pictures were taken with wide apertures and using my camdiox focal reducer, which adds about a stop to each lens attached, but even so a lot needed quite high ISO to reduce the shutter speed to a point where I could hand hold. The majority of this pictures were taken with a Takumar 55mm f/1.8 on the Camdiox, or a Soligor 28mm f/2.8, and all the pictures have been processed in Lightroom CC using my normal workflow.

I’m a software developer by profession but I’ve been taking pictures since I was about 8 years old. In that time I’ve owned cameras of all types and sizes from 120 roll film thro’ 35mm to my current Pentax K-5, Ricoh GXR + P10/S10/A12 28mm/A12 50mm, Canon S95 and recently acquired Sony NEX 6.
