Sunlight through trees

This is a picture which I took during our trip to the North East of England a couple of months ago. I walked to the back of the cottage we were staying at and took this picture of the sun rising and breaking through the trees. Although it’s normally not a good thing to have flare in a picture, I think that in this case the small breakout of flare in the middle left hand side actually adds to the picture.

What would have added even more to the picture however would have been a smaller aperture which would have lead to a better starburst effect.
