Out for a stroll on the beach

This picture was taken on the beach at Dunwich when I was trying to take a picture of the pebbles with the sea breaking in the background. As I was taking various versions of that picture James walked past and I took a picture with his foot in the background. This made me think that it might be nice to use James as the subject of the picture but still frame it from very low down by the pebbles. I did a bit of post processing and re-cropped the picture to get the horizon level (even though the nex has a level display which I normally have turned on this was using the LCD in bright sunlight so I couldn’t actually see it). I also used the lens hyperfocal distance scale to set the focusing.

This image was taken with a Takumar 28mm f/3.5 m42 wide angle lens mounted on a Camdiox focal reducer.

  • Sony Nex 6
  • Takumar 28mm f/3.5 with camdiox focal reducer
  • 1/2500 sec
  • iso 100
  • f/5.6 ?
