minehead beach in summer

When we were on holiday in Somerset this summer we took a trip on the West Somerset Steam Railway and spent a lunchtime on Minehead beach. This summer (2012) was a disaster weather wise and the day we went to Minehead, 8th August was no different. There was persistent drizzle and all over grey cloud so I wasn’t hopeful of taking any memorable pictures, but as it turned out I took one of my favourite images when I snapped this bunch of holiday makers going for a cold, wet stroll on the beach.

I like the line created by the banks of rocks and also the imaginary lines from the top of the various warning buoys. I’d only just upgraded to a Pentax K-5 from my Pentax K-r and was pleased that it was a weather sealed camera that day !

The rest of the pictures I took are on my flickr account.
